Technical Tips - Call Pilot Common Fixes
Problem: Lost Call Pilot IP address?
Solution: Connect the Call Pilot to your PC through Hyper
Terminal using a 9 pin serial cable. Then, reboot the Call Pilot. The
IP address will scroll across the screen.
Problem: When adding a mailbox, the Call Pilot gives you
Information Mailbox as your only choice.
Solution: Your Call Pilot is out of mailboxes. Add additional
mailbox key codes.
Problem: Call Pilot keeps rebooting.
Solution: Make sure you have a digital station port connected
to the Call Pilot. It will not boot up without one connected. Also,
check what slot the software card is in. It must be in the slot
closest to the wall. The slot closest to you is for upgrades.
Problem: When a user tries to login, their mailbox
displays log instead of password. The mailbox has already been added.
Solution: Change the user UI from CP (Call Pilot Meridian) to
NVM (Norstar Voice Mail).
Quick Note:
When connecting to a Call Pilot for the first time using a PC,
its IP address needs to be 192.168.110.11. The default Call Pilot IP
is 192.168.110.10. Make sure to use a crossover Ethernet cable. The
password is 0000, and it will ask you to change to a new password.
This password also becomes your login password (i.e. 1021234 instead
of 1020000). It will take up to fifteen minutes to boot up, so be
patient.
